Owing to Ross River being booked for an event, this year's Ross River Gran Fondo will ride a shortened route to Corroboree Rock. Departing from the car park of Alice Springs Brewing Co. at 7:00 am and riding to the end of the double lanes and back to Corroboree Rock for morning tea. This is a gran fondo - a ride to test your endurance but not a race. There will be support vehicles following the main groups and a bike trailer and mini bus at the end to transport riders back to Alice Springs. All riders will depart the Alice Springs Brewing Co at 7:00am on Saturday September 13 and ride to the end of the double-lane bitumen on the Ross Highway and back to Corroboree Rock Conservation Reserve. A total of 61km. Riders who haven't had enough by this point are welcome to ride unsupported back to Alice. The bus and bike trailer will drop riders with bikes off at both the Brewery and the carpark opposite Central Australian Aboriginal Congress on Gap Road, at approximately 11:00am. You must have at least a Lifestyle licence, which can be obtained at https://www.auscycling.org.au/membership. If you have never held an Auscycling licence you can obtain a free 4 week trial licence.

Alice Springs Telegraph Station Historical Reserve

Three Tribes brings together three clubs presenting three sporting disciplines in one fun event, followed by a family social get together at the telegraph station.  The run leg of this event is coordinated by the Alice Springs Running and Walking Club, the MTB leg by Central Australian Rough Riders and the road leg by Alice Springs Cycling Club. This year we are offering the following options for either solo or teams of 2: Option 1: Road ride then MTB Option 2: Road Ride then Run Option 3: MTB then Run These options can be completed Solo or in a Team of 2 with each team member completing one leg of the chosen option.  If you want us to assist you finding a team hit this link and complete form. Form to find team member    We will assist to find a team member prior to the day, or team you up on the day.   How this will work Road and MTB Riders will depart at 8am on their respective courses.  When riders return from this leg, solo competitors will continue on their next leg (run or MTB): team riders will tag their team member who will continue on their next leg (run or MTB). Each leg will be about 60 minutes in duration, but this will obviously vary depending on speed of competitors.  After all competitors return we will share refreshments and nibbles at the telegraph station lawns. We encourage you to invite family members and friends to join us to socialise. We encourage all competitors to contribute cake, biscuits or snacks for this event.  Soft drinks will be provided.  Schedule Competitors sign on prior to 7.45am at the telegraph station, position bikes and equipment for second leg.  Race briefing will be at 7.45am, all competitors must be a the race briefing. Leg 1 starts 8am   Road riders will ride neutral to MVR, continue to High Point Carpark where a race marshal will assist with turn around and then return to Telegraph Station.  MTB riders will complete a circuit of the Telegraph Station (TBC). There is a family orientated social gathering at the Telegraph Station directly after the event.  All family and friends are welcome to join. Entry is free for all competitors. All riders need an Auscycling licence. Approx 9:00/9.30 am  Road and MTB Riders tag runner or MTB Rider Approx 10.00pm/10.30am  Runners and MTB Rider start to return to Telegraph Station.    10:30am Social gathering, drinks and presentation. 11.30 am Finish – pack up.

High Point handicap (34km). Sign on at ASCC clubrooms, followed by drinks and bbq. Race starts/finishes at MVR with turnaround at High Point Marker. Riders will be handicapped based on recent performances and form and will be at the discretion of the officials. Cars and items can be left at the clubrooms.   An Auscycling Race Licence is required for this event.

Cancelled Cancelled This years Glen Helen Gran Fondo will start at Flynn's Grave and the finish line will be at the top of the Mt Sonder Lookout. A hill climb to finish.  This event is a Gran Fondo so you only require a Lifestyle Auscycling licence to enter.    There is also the option of doing only half of the distance, starting the ride from Hugh River stop.  You can register for the Half Fondo, be at the start and you will go on the bus to Hugh River for the start from there.  Entry and return transfers are free to members of ASCC, but places on the bus are limited and are on first in basis.   You must book your entry to the event and return on the bus seperately via the link below.   The event will finish at Mount Sonder lookout (opposite Glen Helen), where lunch will be available and cold drinks too.  All attendees are asked to bring a salad or savoury dish to complement the selection of cold meat and cheese. These can be taken to the start line and will be transported from there.   There will be two different speed groups, departing as following: 6:45am sign on for a 7.00am departure and a 7:45am sign on for an 8.00am departure. Santa Teresa Road - Past Airport

Individual Time Trial #3 is a 20km TT along Santa Teresa Road, starting just past the airport.   Registration no later than 13:45hrs.   Registration, Start and finish are beside the road, please park safely.  The course will travel 10km towards Santa Teresa and return (turn-around at 10km).  U17/15 10km; U13/11 4km. An individual time trial (ITT) is a road bicycle race in which cyclists race alone against the clock.  Each rider departs at set intervals and must race alone (no drafting) to complete the course.  This is a great way to enter cycle racing as you do not need to understand group riding etiquette, it is purely you and your bike against the clock.  To enter this event you require Auscycling membership.  Membership types for entry into a Time Trial, include All Race, Lifestyle or Race Off Road (mtb).    To obtain membership go to the Auscycling website at   https://www.auscycling.org.au/membership Race Director: Don Gibson   Commissaire: Phillip Davis

Start at Flynn’s Grave car park, ride Larapinta Dr, left into Ilparpa Rd, turning left into Len Kittle Drive for the final sprint to finish at the old fallen gum tree next to BMX (27km). Teams will be from each Grade - A, B & C. Riders will be placed into Grades based on recent performances and form but will be at the discretion of the officials. It is a handicap event and the Grades will be sent off at times set by the commissaire in consultation wiht the director. The road is not closed and riders need to ride safely at all times. Registrations on the day.  Please bring proof of membership. A Race-All membership of AusCycling is required. To earn points towards Club awards you must be a member of Alice Springs Cycling Club. The Three Day West Macs Cruise is returning for 2025! Join members and friends of the Alice Springs Cycling Club on an extraordinary three days of supported, fully catered road cycling through stunning desert country from Alice Springs back to Alice Springs, via Tylers Pass and Hermannsburg. One and two day options also available (you will need to provide your own connecting transport). Dates: Saturday 3 May – Monday 5 May 2025 (Mayday weekend in the NT) The route: Day 1 – Alice to Ormiston Gorge (135k) Day 2 - Ormiston Gorge to Hermannsburg (110k) Day 3 – Hermannsburg to Alice (135k) A total of 380k.  If you have never ridden over 100k in a day, this is your chance! Accommodation: Camping at Ormiston Gorge and Hermannsburg Campgrounds.  BYO camping equipment (it will be transported for you). Options for joining us for single day rides are also available. And… we need volunteers!  Drivers of support vehicles in particular are needed – free participation, great company and lots of good food on offer!  Assistance from riders and friends is also needed to pre-cook simple, nutritious meals and snacks. Tickets are available below.   These prices do NOT include your Auscycling membership which is compulsory for third party insurance purposes (There are Three membership options including a four week free trial if you have never been a member before; a Lifestyle Basic at $129 annually or $11 a month and an Event Licence at $74 - google Auscycling membership to find out how).  ASCC membership of $20 must be added on to obtain member's discount. If you have juniors (high school aged) who want to ride, please contact Andrea directly to discuss. Desert CycloCross is a fun social event that anyone can join, with any bike and any Auscycling licence.  Its all about fun on a mix of dirt and concrete.   Enjoy a fast lap around the velodrome, and then leap over a few hurdles and take a muddy corner here and there.   We recommend a mountain bike, but any bike can be used.  We also suggest lights for the events later in the series. Gates open at 5.30pm, with racing starting at 6.00pm, so bring bike lights.  This is a 5 week series that will end with a Pizza night on the last night for all involved.   All riders need a valid AusCycling licence, either a Lifestyle or All Race.  Membership can be obtained at https://www.auscycling.org.au/membership   4 week trial membership can be obtained at https://www.auscycling.org.au/membership/other/free-trial
