A Ride to the Border - THE iconic event for 2024 that will be talked about for years to come.
Part 1: A fully supported ride from the Memorial Club Carpark to Erldunda. Camp out the night at Erldunda Roadhouse. This will be ridden as a controlled group with lead and rear support vehicles, flashing lights and signage on support vehicles. Option for next day to complete the Ride to the Border - see below.
Bus will return to Alice Springs, leaving Erldunda approximately 2pm Sunday 5th May.
Part 2: A fully supported ride to the South Australian border from Erldunda. Lunch at a scenic spot near border. Return by vehicle to Erldunda and on to Alice Springs.
We provide great company, lunch on each day, breakfast on the Sunday, morning tea both days, afternoon tea on Saturday. Cold drinks at lunch stops and the end of the days ride. Camping at Erldunda. On Saturday evening we will eat in the Erldunda Tavern at your own expense.
You will need to provide a safe working bicycle (with spare tubes, lubricant, tools for adjustments etc), the ability to ride in a well controlled bunch (peleton) at 25-27km/hr, plate, cup and cutlery for the lunch stops, camping equipment for the Saturday night
All riders must have AusCycling memberships (https://www.auscycling.org.au/membership). Lifestyle or Road Race. There will be a surcharge if you are not an Alice Springs Cycling Club member.
