Come & Try sessions at Track 23 August 2023

Hi everyone - thanks so much for offering your services for the Ross Park Primary School Come and Try sessions starting on Tuesday.  Over 100 students have been registered (although the number actually attending will very likely be a bit less than this)

 

THE ROSTER BELOW HAS SOME CHANGES. PLEASE NOTE YOUR DATES AND TIMES.  Not included below is Michael Smith, who works for Ross Park but is usually good value to help marshal the kids and will be at each session, along with the teacher Alastair Sheriff.

 

Each session starts at the same time - the students will arrive by bus at 1.15 for a 1.30 start, and need to be heading onto the bus at 2.30.  PLEASE BE IN ATTENDANCE AT 12.45 AT THE LATEST TO GET BIKES AND HELMETS OUT OF SHED AND SORTED.  PLEASE ALSO HELP WITH PACK UP AT THE END.

 

The duties required include (but Reg might have others):

• Sort kids into groups (probably four depending on size of class)
• A group at a time, teach kids how to fit helmets properly and ensure each has a properly fitted helmet
• Get each child in the group with a bike that fits their size and give basic instruction to any brand new riders
• One person to manage kids on the flat before they enter the track
• One to ride on the track with kids
• Reg as coach will give overall direction
